1950s Two-Tone Komet ‘Esquinas Tantos’ Watch

1950s Two-Tone Komet ‘Esquinas Tantos’ Watch

Why This Watch Matters

So you think you are special with that two-time zone watch? Well, we found one with not two, not three, not four, but five time zones. This Komet watch will keep you in sync, no matter where you are.

The Full Story

Not much is known about the watch brand Komet, but from what we can see it is worth looking into. The two-tone watch you see here (steel and pink-gold plated) features a Swiss-made Komet-signed movement that accounts for four additional time zones. Each subsidiary dial features a 24-hour indicator, with two sub dials on the left-hand side labeled "Esquinas" (meaning corner in Spanish), and the dials on the right side labeled "Tantos" (meaning many in Spanish). The subsidiary dial hands are activated by each chronograph-like button set in the bands of the watch. In addition to this super useful and interesting function, the watch features oversized, pink-gold, reflective Arabic numerals at the quarter-hours, as well as a bright red center seconds hand. And you can’t beat the pink-gold plated flared lugs of this cool and unusual watch.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The case of this two-tone watch is in very good condition. The pink-gold plated case does not show any signs of chipping or wear, except underneath the lugs. The buttons are still functioning, and are very crisp. The dial is gorgeous, however does have some scratches and pitting around the outside of the dial and on the two right-hand sub-dials. Otherwise, this is a very nice watch that has maintained its condition.
